Glenn Witte Obituary

Glenn Carl "Bud" Witte, 97, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on November 10, 2024, at Grey Stone Health and Rehabilitation, Fort Wayne. Born in Hoagland, he was the son of the late Charles and Emilia (Springer) Witte. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven. He served his country in the US Army during WWII and retired in 1982 from General Electric after 30 years. He coached basketball for 5th and 6th graders at Central Lutheran School. He was known as a hard worker who enjoyed camping, small engine and car repair, and building his own pole buildings. He is survived by his children, Susan (Mark) Lecher, Randy, Gregg (Mary), and Kent (Laura) Witte; 12 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his first wife of 44 years, Norene in 1996; second wife, Carrol Witte in 2019; sons, Gary and Brian Witte; and siblings, Herbert and Harold Witte, Arvada Waterson, Vera Merica, and Elda Braun.

Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 800 Green St., New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 15, 2024, at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E. New Haven. Burial in Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery, New Haven.
