Gregory L. Petersen Sr.

Gregory L. Petersen Sr., 75, passed away on December 9, 2025, He was born on March 13, 1950, in Fort Wayne, IN to Gordon and Marjorie Petersen and was beloved husband, father, and grandpa. Greg shared 45 wonderful years with the love of his life, his wife, Linda. Together they built a beautiful family full of love and laughter. Fiercely dedicated to his family, always there to listen or help and armed with the best hugs around. He was a voracious reader with an appetite for learning. A lover of music and animals, an avid collector, a generous giver, and always ready for a cookie. Greg was a Vietnam veteran who served in the United States Marine Corp. He worked for ITT Aerospace for 35 years where he was very active in the union. Driven by his desire to help the people, he transitioned into the role of International Representative with the CWA where he continued working for 13 years. Greg is survived by his wife, Linda Petersen; his four children, Angela (Joseph) Kowalewski of Ohio, Gregory (Natalie) Petersen, Jr. of Illinois, Paula Abdool of Fort Wayne, IN, and Melissa (Nathan) Scheele of California; his brother, George (Elaine) Petersen of Fort Wayne, IN and sister Cynthia Diedrich of Illinois. Greg is also survived by 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Gordon Petersen; his mother, Marjorie Petersen; and brother, Dale Petersen, along with his beloved feline friends Felix, Oscar, and Max. "Life will never be the same without you. We love you so much!" Family will receive friends from 2-4 pm on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2025 at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Pine Valley 1320 E. Dupont Rd. followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 4 pm.
