Henry Witmer Obituary

This obituary is being re-published to provide additional information. HENRY "HANK" FREDERICK WITMER, 84, of Leo, died Wednesday evening, June 14, 2006, at Regency Place, Fort Wayne. Born June 4, 1922, in Allen County, he was the son of the late Menno and Lydia S. (Delagrange) Witmer. He married Edna Mae Gerig on March 27, 1947, in Allen County; she preceded him in death on July 1, 2005. He worked as a carpenter for many years with Joe Lengacher Construction and also as a farmer. He was a member of North Leo Mennonite Church and a 33 year member of the AA Program. Surviving are his sons, S. Cliff (Dianne) Witmer of Leo, Cletus U. Witmer of Grabill and Clarence L. (Sue) Witmer of Leo; five grandchildren, Jade R. (Clint) Delagrange of Spencerville, Loretta S. Witmer and Tyler D. (Randa) Witmer, both of Leo, Shane M. (Amanda) Witmer of Grabill and Lester J. Witmer of Leo; great-grandson, Dakota Matthew Witmer; brother, Menno J. (Rosa) Wit-mer of Leo; and sisters, Margaret M. Witmer and Mary M. Miller, both of Leo, and Kanoshia A. (Noah) Dela-grange of Spencerville. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Eli J. Witmer; brother-in-law, Perry Miller. Service is 2 p.m. Sunday at North Leo Mennonite Church, with calling one hour prior to service. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the church. Burial in Schlatter Cemetery. Arrangements by Carnahan-Baidinger & Walter Funeral Home, Spencerville. Memorials to NE Allen County Fire and EMS, PO Box 428, Grabill, IN 46741, North leo Mennonite Church, PO Box 213, Leo, IN 46765 or donor's choice.

Hello to the family, especially Clet!! I'm sorry for the loss of Hank, he was missed at the South Side meeting. I hope that you guys can deal with your losses one day at a time.

My prayers are for the living that God will Bless you with His Peace. Hank was a torch bearer for AA. He gave me strength to keep on. May he rest forever in Peace.
