HUBERT JOHN "BUD" STEINBACHER

HUBERT JOHN "BUD" STEINBACHER, 91, passed away Friday, May 11, 2018, at Parkview Hospital - Randallia in Fort Wayne. Born in Chicago, Ill., Bud worked as a union electrician through Local 305 and with GE for 27 years. He served honorably in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Waynedale Masonic Lodge and Shriner. Bud enjoyed working on his small farm in Whitley County and was an avid golfer. He liked to hike and camp and enjoyed watching Peyton Manning, the Chicago Bears, and IU basketball. Surviving are his sons, Joe (Deb) Steinbacher of Columbia City, Kurt (Cheryl) Steinbacher of Westminster, Md., and Ed H. Steinbacher of Columbia City, Ind.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sister, Carolyn (Don) Lahrman of Fort Wayne. Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Betty M. Steinbacher, in 2016; father, Hubert John Steinbacher Sr.; mother, Mildred Steinbacher; daughter-in-law, Linda Steinbacher; and sister, Marjorie Wherry. Service is 7 p.m. Wednesay, May 16, 2018, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, with Pastor David Mitchell officiating.
