JAMES CAPPELLI Obituary

JAMES HAROLD CAPPELLI, 94, of Fishers, Ind., formerly of Fort Wayne, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018. Born in Detroit, Mich., he was a son of the late William and Mary (Kehn) Cappelli. After his schooling, he proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Moving to Fort Wayne, he became the owner of United Vacuum Store and J & J Antiques. Jim, as he was fondly known, had a love for antiques, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. After retirement, he moved to Noblesville, Ind., where he attended Hazel Dell Christian Church. He married Jeanne Maree (Mosbaugh) Cappelli on March 15, 1977; she survives. Also surviving are his sons, William (Claudia) Cappelli and Carl Cappelli, both of Fort Wayne; stepdaughter, Martha (Larry) Johnson of Decatur, Ill.; son-in-law, Timothy Nichols; 16 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Cappelli, in 1974; son, Gary Cappelli; daughter, Debbie Cappelli Nichols; stepdaughter, Donna Trigilio; and brother, Eugene Cappelli. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, at Hartley Funeral Homes, Cicero Chapel, 209 West Jackson St., Cicero (IN 46034), with visitation from 10 a.m. until time of the service. Local service is noon Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, in the Chapel at Lindenwood Cemetery, in Fort Wayne, with visitation from 11 a.m. until time of the service and burial to follow. Bill & Carl....my heart goes out to you both in the loss of your dad....he was such a commanding figure in your lives....always friendly whenever we had a vacuum problem all those years ago....will try to see you Wednesday at Lindenwood for hugs all around. I still have pictures of "the boys in drag" from about a hundred years ago!!! Somehow Carl escaped that one!!!
