James Minick Obituary

JAMES R. MINICK, 72, of New Haven, died Wednesday, July 16, 2008, 2:03 p.m., at Parkview Hospital. Born Aug. 23, 1935, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Elmer Minick and Catherine (Salmon) Minick. He married Eileen R. Bowers on March 10, 1984, in New Haven; she survives. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, New Haven. He was a maintenance man and pump attendant at Fort Myers Truck Stop, Fort Wayne for over 23 years; a former truck driver and former owner of the Townley Inn. Surviving are her wife, Eileen R. Minick of New Haven; daughter, Tina (Shawn) Favre of Fort Wayne; son and companion, Michael (Jamie Shaffer) Britten of Fort Wayne; brother, Dan (Evelyn) Minick of New Haven, Robert (Carolyn) Minick of Woodburn and David (June) Minick of Huntington; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Minick. Service is 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven, with visitation one hour prior. Father James Seculoff officiating. Visitation also from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, with rosary service at 4 p.m. today.
