JAMES W. "JIM" STOCK

JAMES "JIM" W. STOCK, 83, of Angola, Ind., died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, 10:30 a.m., in his home with his loving wife Anita (Mailand) Stock at his side. They were married on May 31, 1959 at St. Johns Lutheran Church Bingen, and celebrated 58 years of marriage. Born Aug. 26, 1933, in Indianapolis, Ind., Jim was a son of the late Wilmer F. and Ruth E. (Bleeke) Stock. He graduated from Pleasant Lake High School, in Indiana, in 1951. He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. He graduated from Tri-State College (now Trine University), in Angola, Ind., majoring in Civil Engineering. He began his banking career in 1961 at First National Bank of Angola (now Key Bank). He graduated from the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, Wis. After 32 years, he retired as the President of the bank. Upon retirement from the Banking Industry, he began a 23 year career with RE/MAX Results as a Real Estate Broker. In 2013, he retired with many awards of Excellence. Throughout his full-time career of banking and Real Estate, he enjoyed many interests including farming, boating, hunting, fishing, camping, and motor home traveling. Throughout his career, he was involved in many organizations within the community. He served on the Steuben County Sheriff's Merit Board, was a founding board member of the Angola Industrial Park, a founding board member of Steuben County Community Foundation, a charter member of the Calvary Lutheran Church serving on church council multiple times, a board member of the Fort Wayne Lutheran Foundation, a past chairman of the Cameron Hospital Ball Committee, a member of the Angola Moose, Angola American Legion, a charter member of the Angola Elks, Angola Veterans of Foreign War (V.F.W.), Scottish Rite, Blue Lodge 236, Masons, Shriners, and York Rite. Surviving are his wife, Anita; four children, Brenda (Barry) Harter of Mount Vernon, Wash,, Karen (Rusty) Petersen of Anacortes, Wash., Kevin (Cindy) Stock of Fort Wayne, and Diane Webb of Clarksville, Ind.; six grandchildren, Taylor, Logan and Gavin Stock, Savannah, Dallas, and Lucas Webb; two brothers, John (Diane) Stock and Jeff (Fern) Stock; and one sister, Janice (John) Kryling. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Judy Collandino. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017, at Calvary Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Daryl J. Emowrey and Rev. Donald E. Meyers officiating. Visitation is from 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017, at H.E. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, 108 S. West St., Angola, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola, Ind.
