From the old Pasadena Ward Days to a brief moment in LaVern, what a sweet kind person. Jan was very modest and I know had many spiritual experiences. The Lord trusted him. I remember him as a sunday school teacher, and later as a friend. God be with Beverly and your beautiful family; how could they be anything but beautiful, inside and out, just like you both. Love to you both, Karen (Kowallis) Sewell - St.George, Utah

To the Stine family.. I only just heard of Jan's passing. He was my fifth grade teacher at Chandler School in Pasadena (Hi Cindy and Sherry). Your dad was always one of my favorite teachers, and it may sound strange to say that as a fith grader he had a major influence on me,.. but he really did. I wish I could have seen him again before he left us. My best to the entire family.

I knew Jan Stine since 1986, through work in the Healthcare field. We shared knowledge and laughter many times over the years. I know he touched many lives.
He will be missed.

I just watched a Rifleman episode entitled "The Woman From Hog Ridge" where Jan Stine played Johnny Boyle. He was so good at playing a naive good-hearted kid. I couldn't understand why he got out of acting. It sure must not have been because of lack of offers for roles. Sorry to read of his death.

My condolences to Beverly and her family. I'm not a poet or writer and I got a D in english so please forgive me if I can not put into words how much it means to me to have know Jan. Some of my fondest memories of Jan are when I was invited over to dinner with him and his family and just feeling all the love in the room. I hope to meet up with you again, your hoosier friend.

To all of Jan's family, my heartfelt sympathies. Jan and I were in various
plays together at Central High School. He
called me his "little sister". He had such talent and was the best friend I could ask for. I kept the article that they did in the ROTO section years ago.
Anytime Horse Soldiers is on, I try to catch it. It was a true honor to have Jan a part of my high school years. He was very special. May Our Lord's loving arms comfort each of you,
Prayers and Blessings,
Bonnie (Betley) Hilsmier- CHS class of '58.

I met Jan through Gina, Pratt, and Gerry Munson. I'm grateful to have had the pleasure of meeting him through times that we all shared at the Hough Performing Arts center, where we would all enjoy some great entertainment. Jan was one of the most pleasant men I have ever met and he and his lovely wife Beverly always made me feel loved and welcomed. I admire them greatly and always will. My love and prayers to Beverly and her family at this time.

Jan Stine had a quiet yet profound influence on my life.
Thankfully, I got many chances to tell him. He personifies the term "Gentleman," as a true gentle man. He led by example, and is a tender, gentle, loving soul. His example was pure. Inherently, it just seemed his nature; a smile, a twinkling eye accompanied with reverence, yet always a giggle to share. His faith was a testament through his demeanor and countenance.
I became better acquainted with Brother Stine and his beloved wife, Beverly whom I also adore, over recent years. Mom, Gerry Munson, Dad, Pratt Munson, and I, would join them at the Hough Performing Arts Center, in Glendora, to enjoy wonderful shows and entertainment.
Jan Stine became my standing ovation partner! After a, (and all were mostly great), performance, he'd glance my way and I his, then back and forth again until he just burst with appreciation for a performance and we'd both "rocket" to our feet and clap and holler. It was as if we were saying without words..."c'mon! let's do it!" Up we'd shoot to our feet and let the entertainers know we loved the show!
My last mortal time with Jan Stine was exiting one of these shows. As Beverly and Mom were walking ahead, we were like two kids exclaiming about the show. When the time came to hop in our cars and go home, we all hugged each other and as I hugged him, I told him I loved him.
What a fun, exuberant, gentle man. I know when I return to that venue for another show, or possibly any venue, I'll feel his "standing ovation" glance and then burst with appreciation, and part of that clapping and hollering will be in homage to Jan Stine...plus, he may even be whooping and hollering and clapping there too!
My utmost love and condolences to a great family. Beverly Stine is true Grace as well as a true and loved friend. Thank you for sharing your lives with me.
With love and admiration, Gina Munson
