Scott Stine Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Springer and Son - Aloha Funeral Home & Crematory on Mar. 16, 2026.
Scott William Stine
Date Of Birth: 01/17/1970
Date of Death: 02/27/2026

Scott Stine was born in Colorado Springs, CO on the Fort Carson Army Base. His family moved from Colorado to Oklahoma to Florida to Texas and finally settled long term in the Tualatin Oregon area in 1980. Scott is a Tigard High School graduate and has a BA in English from Bethany Bible College. Scott is a writer, creator and playwright at heart but had to take several other jobs throughout his life to pay the bills. Through the years he worked in the mortgage industry and his last jobs were as a project manager for various companies in the software industry. Scott volunteered at church, was involved with Toastmasters, and was a part of several Bible studies and life groups over the years. He has written two books; one published and available on Amazon titled, The Omega: Book 1 of the Coyote Saga, the other has not yet been fully edited or published. He helped his children write stories and do homework, he even wrote a play for one of them. When his body was cooperating with him, he loved working out and running. Scott enjoyed all the adventures and journeys his wife, Kelley, took him and their children on in the Great Outdoors. National Parks were amongst the favorites. Scott was loved and cherished by not one, but two Church families. In 2020 Scott became Orthodox Christian and got connected with the St. Nicholas Orthodox Church family. He also stayed connected with his Horizon Community Church family where his family all attend and he had been since 1980. We could also throw in a few other churches who loved and prayed for him and the family these last years.

Scott is survived by his wife, Kelley Stine; his daughters Quinaby (20) and Kessaree (16) Stine; his parents Bill and Eileen Stine; his sister Kathy her husband Chris Chaney; his nephews Andrew and Caleb Chaney; and his niece Elise Chaney. He is also survived by a bunch of extended family that love him dearly, a group of middle & high school buddies that have remained by his side all these years, and a multitude of friends and coworkers. For an introvert Scott had an uncanny ability to connect with people and have a lasting connection with them. He was also extremely funny and smart; you wanted to know every word that came out of his mouth, because when he spoke it was worth hearing. He will be greatly missed, fondly remembered, and cherished in our hearts forever. A Celebration of Life service will take place Saturday March 28th at 11:00 a.m. It will be held at Horizon Community Church in Tualatin Oregon. It will be officiated by Pastor Stan Russell. Scott has been prayed for, sung over and beautifully laid to rest by the congregation of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church at Crescent Grove Cemetery in Tigard Oregon.
