Opal Anderson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Springer and Son - Aloha Funeral Home & Crematory on Mar. 13, 2026.
Opal Anderson, of Beaverton, Oregon, was born on November 29, 1933, in Portageville, Missouri to Dollie and Ollie Jones. She passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, March 4. Terry Lewis lovingly served as her caregiver for many years.
When Opal was 12 years old, her family moved to Milton-Freewater, Oregon, where she later graduated from high school. On June 29, 1956, she married Alonzo Anderson of Walla Walla, Washington. The couple lived in Walla Walla before moving to Bend, Oregon, and eventually settling in Beaverton, Oregon.
Opal worked for 15 years in the Beaverton High School cafeteria where she became well known for her delicious homemade soups. She was a member of Beaverton Church of the Nazarene and was involved in many ministries over the years including working with the youth, missions, and senior group activities.
Opal enjoyed many pastimes, including researching genealogy, gardening, canning, making Christmas candy, and camping. Above all-aside from her love for the Lord-she treasured spending time with her family. She especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and holidays were never complete without as many family members present as possible.
Opal was preceded in death by her husband, Alonzo Anderson. She is survived by her children: Gregg (Nanette), Terry, Brenda (David), and Mike (Karlene). She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will take place at a later date for the family. Burial will take place at Willamette Cemetery.
