Jane Canfield Obituary

JANE MARI CANFIELD, 52, of Fort Wayne, died Monday, Aug. 11, 2003, at University Park Nursing Center. Born Nov. 11, 1950, in Fort Wayne, she worked in the health care field and had been a nursing student at Ivy Tech College. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and was president of the Resident Council at University Park. "Even though Jane's life changed 14 years ago, due to an auto accident, she never gave up hope that she would some day be able to live a 'normal' , happy, long life. She wanted to enjoy her children and grandchildren. No one will ever forget her sense of humor, spirited personality and ability to make anyone she came in contact with laugh. She is at peace now, reunited with those she has loved and lost. She will be in the hearts and prayers of her family and friends forever, and will make us laugh again some day." Survivors include daughter, April (Richard) Michaels of Indianapolis; sons, Michael (Sue) Richards of Fort Wayne, Nick Lyons of Fishers; parents, Norma and Harold Fischer of Fort Wayne; sister, Barbara (David) Nichter of Auburn; brothers, Don Canfield of Fort Wayne, Jon (Vicki) Canfield of Rome City; grandchildren, Hailey Richards and Stephen Lyons; and cousin and friend, Mike Canfield of Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Canfield. Service is 11 a.m. Friday at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, with visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial at Concordia Cemetery Gardens. Preferred memorials to Turnstone Center for Disabled Children and Adults.
