I had only known Jean for a couple of years. During that time she was always willing to share her knowledge of the area which was quite extensive. One of her favorite stories was how a nearby house had a speakeasy in the basement. During a dry time(no alcohol), the local politicians would frequent it.

We will dearly miss our Miss Collins; the nurses at St Joseph Hospital had gotten to know her pretty well and we were very fond of her. Our prayers go out to family and friends.

I just want to tell you how sorry I am for your loss. I am Elizabeth Gunkel and I work for Allen County Council on Aging and I would go in to Mrs. Collins house once a week and help her by cleaning and doing laundry. Again, I only knew her for a few short weeks but she was an amazing painter and a even more wonderful women. Sorry for you lose.
