JEFFREY BROWN Obituary

JEFFREY T. BROWN, 56, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010, at his home in Fort Wayne. He was a devoted member of Fellowship Missionary Church and loved playing his guitar on the worship team. He also loved his family and spending time with them at Coldwater Lake. Surviving are his wife, Mary Jane Groves Brown of Fort Wayne; daughters, Ashleigh (fiancée Justin Samuel Bradley) Brown of Cincinnati, Ohio, Leslie (James Eric) Young of Indianapolis; son, Eric Jonathan Bodie of Indianapolis; granddaughter, Lillian Monroe Young; his beloved Cocker Spaniel, Molly Mae Brown; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Sally Groves, Jim and Marilyn Kelker, Rick and Debbie Groves; a boat load of nieces and nephews; and many dear aunts, uncles, and cousins from the Montpelier, Ohio area. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Bond and Virginia Katherine Brown. Service is 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9, 2010 at Fellowship Missionary Church, 2536 E. Tillman Rd. with calling one hour prior to service. Rev. David DeSelm officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010 at D.O. McComb & Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Avenue. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Fellowship Missionary Church or the S.P.C.A. JEFF AND I WENT THROUGH MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL TOGETHER. WAS ALWAYS A GREAT GUY AND ALWAYS TREATED PEOPLE FAIR.

I AM SORRY TO HEAR OF HIS PASSING AND OUR PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AT THIS TIME.

Jeff was one of the first people in the FMC Choir/Band to make me feel welcome when I was new, just a heck of a nice guy with a wonderful spirit!! Hope you're feeling protected and held by all of the prayers being lifted up for your family in this tragic time.

So sorry to hear of Jeff's passing-many fond memories in the early 70's of Jeff playing music with my brother Mike Beck in our basement in Ft. Wayne. Such a great guy. He will be missed.
