Joan Barrand Obituary

Joan D. Barrand, 91, passed away on September 17, 2025, she was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on July 2, 1934, daughter of the late Lutillis and Lillian (Mattox) Gongaware. She was a member of the Night Owl Card Club for several years. Joan enjoyed cooking, collecting Pillsbury Doughboys, and sewing. She loved going to the family reunions and always had a smile. Joan is survived by her children, Donna (Bob) Fiedler, Dawn VonDerau, and Randy Barrand; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five great-great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Barrand. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Barrand; son, Rickey Barrand; and nine siblings. Visitation for Joan will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Friday, September 26, 2025 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46804 with a graveside service to follow. Contributions in Joan's memory may be made to Heartland Hospice.
