JOHANNA ICE-GOLD Obituary
REV. JOHANNA ICE-GOLD, 69, of Fort Wayne, departed on Friday, Nov. 5, 2010. Born March 11, 1941, in Hayti, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Freddie Ice Sr. and Ernestine Simpson. She retired from the United States Postal Service and was the founder of the Harambee Festival. She was an Elder and Sunday school superintendent at Lighthouse Cathedral. She was the devoted mother of Pastor Denise Trimble, Rhonda (Antonio) Freshley and Lunzy Gold, all of Fort Wayne, Garth (Barbara) Anderson Jr. of Birmingham, Ala. and Lawrence (Karen) Anderson Sr. of Glenview, Ill.; supporting sister of Aurthur Simpson Jr., Freddie (Antionette) Ice Jr., Ron (Robbie) Mayes Sr., Vincent Tinker, Brenda Simpson, Norma Simpson, Jeanne Simpson, Sonya (Danny) Wells, Tracey Ice-Jones, and Keisha Jones; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday at Light House Deliverance Cathedral. Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at True Love Baptist Church. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery. Rhonda I am very shocked to know of Aunty Johanna's passing. I just found out today. I'm really sad but our loss will be her gain. She will meet up with my mom Chi and they will enjoy each other's company. I don't know the words to tell you except that with time it gets better. Hopefully, I will see you soon in person.
