JOHN F. OSTERMAN, 68, of Fort Wayne, went to his heavenly home Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2021, surrounded by his family. Born Aug. 6, 1953, in Anaheim, Calif., he was a son of the late Martin and Georganna Osterman. John enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, fishing, hunting, and camping. He retired from Ellison Bakery. He is survived by his wife, Susan (Mason) Osterman; children, Jennifer (Austin) Couch, John (Jessica) Osterman, Angela (Dan) Smith, Cynthia (Jeff) Lemke, and Jason Osterman; grandchildren, Joshua (Ben) Couch-Garner, Jacob Osterman, Marissa Murphy, Alyssa Couch, Devin Smith, Lucy Osterman, Aubrey Couch, Oliva Osterman, Sydney Couch, Ryan Smith, and Lydia Osterman; great-grandchildren, Hayden Hall and Ivy Murphy; brothers, David (Bert) Osterman, Ron (Julie) Osterman and Glenn (Dawn) Osterman; and sisters, Sharon (Chuck) Wilson and Linda Castator. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Joan Schwalm; and daughter, Gaile Lynn Osterman. Memorial service is 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17, 2021, at Midwest Funeral Home & Cremation Society, 1415 W. Coliseum Blvd., Fort Wayne (IN 46808), with visitation with loved ones will start at 2 p.m. at the funeral home and a celebration at 5 p.m. at Aboite Civil Township Office 11321 Aboite Center Road, Fort Wayne (IN 46814).
