Julia Brown Obituary

Julia Ann Brown, 98, of Bloomington, IN, formerly of Fort Wayne, IN died on Friday, January 24, 2025, She was born August 28, 1926 in Lexington, Kentucky the daughter of the late Benjamin and Mabel (Powers) Stansifer.

Julia was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Fort Wayne, IN. She was a member of Alpha Delta Omega sorority at Hanover College, and was a past PTA president. She worked for many years as a school community liaison with the Fort Wayne Community School system.

Julia was a wonderful mother and homemaker, a master gardener, an enthusiastic partaker of theatre, travel, movies, and fiction, and a gourmet cook. She will be deeply missed.

Julia is survived by her three daughters, Pamela (William) Gordon, Rebecca (William) Campbell, and Barbara (Clyde) Potts; four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many other beloved family members.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Leroy Brown; and a brother, Benjamin Franklin Stansifer, Jr.

The family will have a private graveside service at Highland Park Cemetery.
