I learned of Karl's death via Mary Jane Merkle Compton, having heard that he was involved with a major health issue. It is rare today for one man and his wife to impact a community as did Karl and Bonnie. And, his efforts will be hard, if not impossible to replicate. Thank God that there are people, so committed and dedicated as Karl. May Our Creator provide solace to Bonnie and their family during this time.

Deb and I send our sympathy to the family. Karl coached me in 1975-1976 when I was a freshman at MC. He was a good coach and a better man.

You have my deepest sympathy. I met Karl through my work with Living Well in Wabash County. Karl left a legacy of travel which enriched the retirement years of many people. He will be missed. He was such a nice man.

We have so many good memories of Carl and you, Bonnie, whether it's at the basketball games or on the golf course or just in casual conversations. The last conversation I had with Karl at the hospital in Wabash was so like him showing strength courage and integrity. We will miss him.

Bonnie Dee and Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Karl was my best H.S. friend. I have many wonderful memories of those good times at Central HS and on to MC. Karl was a leader. He could make decisions and committed himself to carry out the goals he set out to accomplish. I learned many life lessons from him during our friendship. We extend our condolences to you at this difficult time.

Kirk, Krissy and Bonnie Dee,
I am so saddened to hear of the passing of Karl. I will always remember him as that Dad who greeted me with a smile and and kind words from his heart. I always felt welcome in your home and have such fond memories of all of our childhood adventures playing kickball in the vacant lot and riding our bikes around the neighborhood. Karl was indeed a Wonderful Father, Loving and giving man who gave so much to his community and family. God Bless you all, I am thinking of you and sending all my love. Pam White

Bonnie Dee, Kirk, and Christine, and family. You are in my thoughts and prayers at this time. As I got older I really learned to know Karl and I enjoyed being in his presence, he offered so much to the community, fun to be around, and he could talk about anything and everything. He certainly will be missed by the community friends, and most of all his family that he loved so much..
