Katherine Kohlbacher Obituary

Katherine L. ""Katie"" Kohlbacher, 81, of Fort Wayne, passed away on September 23, 2025, Katie was born on June 29, 1944 to the late Alfred and Lucile Kohlbacher. Katie graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1962. She worked for a while in Fort Wayne before moving to New York City where she worked in modeling and fashion for over 15 years. After living her dream Katie returned to her home town of Fort Wayne to be close to family. Katie was a devoted and spirited Catholic who used her strong faith to guide her life. She was a member of the Legion of Mary, an advocate for Pro Life, and a Perpetual Adoration Chapel adorer. Katie was a source of abundant energy and brought a unique spirit to those around her. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Her goofy personality and optimism will be greatly missed by those who knew her. Katie is survived by her son, Kristopher and daughter-in-law, Shinhee; sisters, Mary Ann and Jeanne; nephews, Gary, Rick, Greg, and Doug; nieces, Laura, Julie, Erin, and Kerri. She was preceded in death by her brother John. A rosary will be prayed at 9:15am and the visitation will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, with Mass to follow at 10:30 AM at Saint Jude Catholic Church 2155 Randallia, Fort Wayne, IN 46805. Katie's final resting place will be at Divine Mercy Catholic Cemetery in Fort Wayne, IN. Memorial contributions in honor of Katherine L. Kohlbacher may be made to Parkview Cancer Institute.
