Kathleen Barrow Obituary

Kathleen S Barrow, 85, of Fremont, Indiana, passed away on Sunday June 16, 2024, at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Angola. Kathleen was born June 30, 1938, in Escanaba, Michigan, daughter of the late Joseph and Susan (Lane) Prairie. She was a 1957 graduate of North Side High School, Fort Wayne. Kathleen married Joseph C. Barrow on June 29, 1957, in Fort Wayne, and he preceded her in death on May 23, 2016. Kathleen worked at Sullins House in Fremont for 15 years. She had previously worked at Fort Wayne National Bank. She was a member of Fremont United Methodist Church. Kathleen loved lake life and spending time on Lake Minifenokee. She had a passion for flowers and gardening, as well as singing in the Sweet Adelines.

Surviving are her three daughters, Teri (Rick) Steele of Fremont, Indiana, Diana (Brad) Buroker of Lakeland, Florida and Deanna (Tim) Sheaks of Fremont, Indiana; four grandchildren, Justin (LorAnn) Steele of Fremont, Brett (Tammy) Steele of Angola, Bethanny (Chad) Williams of Greenfield, Indiana and Brittany (Adam) Breiner of Bechtelsville, Pennsylvania; 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joseph and one brother, Richard Prairie. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the Fremont Moose Lodge with her grandson Pastor Adam Breiner officiating. Private interment will follow in Lakeside Cemetery, Fremont. Arrangements by Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, Hamilton, Indiana. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions be made to the Steuben County Humane Shelter or to the Lake Minifenokee Lake Fund.

Fred and I was very sorry to see the loss of Kathy in the Obits.
I remember Kathy as being such a fun upbeat person. We called her Chatty Kathy. She never ran out of words.
I did her beautiful hair many,many,many Years ago. We always had a good time together.
