LORENE SANDERS Obituary

LORENE (BLACK) SANDERS, 97, passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 26, 2016, at Saint Anne Nursing Home surrounded by her family. In 1984, she retired from Fort Wayne State Developmental Center after years of dedicated service. She leaves to mourn her passing, daughters, Bessye Taylor and Wendy (Jim) Robinson; grandchildren, Damon, Jason, Nichelle, Veanie, Kristen, Gary, Brandon, Saundra, and Chris; special friends, Ramona Coleman and Bobbi Iwobi; along with a host of beloved great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Willie Sanders Sr. and Cleophus Jones; children, Willie Sanders Jr. and Jessica Sanders; and grandchild, Benjamin Taylor. Service is 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016, at Ellis Funeral Home, 1021 E. Lewis St., with visitation starting at 9 a.m. Interment in Greenlawn Memorial Park. When I visited my mother at St. Anne's, we both enjoyed stopping to visit with Lorene. Her joyful spirit and friendly nature made her a joy to know. She is remembered fondly and sincerely missed.
