Luetta A. Messmann

LUETTA A. MESSMANN, 90, went to be with the Lord and her late husband Friday, May 6, 2005, at Woodview Health Care Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Allen County, she was a Secretary with Western Auto for 25 years, retiring in 1973. She was a member of Lake James Lutheran Chapel and Emanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven. Survivors include son, Kenneth (Marilyn) Messmann of New Haven; daughter, Charlene (Ed) A. Vondran of New Haven; granddaughters, Rhonda Acosta of Woodburn, Lisa Kimmel of New Haven and Joellyn Petry of Spencerville; grandsons, Douglas Vondran of Harlan and Matthew Vondran of New Haven; grandson-in-law, Bill Meadows of Woodburn; 22 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood W., on April 13, 2005; her granddaughter, Deborah Meadows, in 2002; a great-granddaughter, April Acosta, in 1999; one brother; and three sisters. Service is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 800 Green St., New Haven, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 8 p.m. today at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road. Burial in Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery, New Haven.
