M. KIMMEL Obituary

M. MAXINE KIMMEL, 85, of Hicksville, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017, at Hickory Creek at Hicksville Nursing Home. She was born Oct. 26, 1931, in Auburn, a daughter of the late Tom and Clara (Bash) Brunson. She married Clifford L. "Lav- ern" Kimmel on Dec. 1, 1950, in Newville, and he died June 10, 2016. Mrs. Kimmel worked alongside her husband, Lavern, on their family farm. She also was a homemaker and the bookkeeper for the farm. She was a member of the Newville Church of Christ. She also was an active member and volunteer for the 4-H. Surviving are her daughter, Marsha Ann (Ernie) Hurni of Hicksville; son, Rick Lee (Kenda) Kimmel of Spencerville; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Charlene Brunson of Fort Wayne, Ind. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Lavone Brunson; and two sisters, Lois Maxey and Violet Patee. Service is 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Newville Church of Christ, 5107 C.R. 75A, Butler, Ind., with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church. D.V. Dillinger will officiate. Visitation also from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the Feller & Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, Ind. Burial will take place in Riverview Cemetery in Newville. Memorials may be directed to Lake James Christian Assembly or the Newville Church of Christ. Condolences may be left at www.fellerandclark.com
