MARLENE UMBER Obituary

MARLENE J. UMBER, 90, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022. Born Oct. 5, 1931, in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Helen (Hill) Carnall. She was a 1949 graduate of South Side High School. She worked as a Supervisor of Savings Inquiry for Fort Wayne National Bank, now PNC National Bank. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. She enjoyed music, playing the flute, piano, accordion, and violin. She was active along with her husband in the Boy Scouts, creating and serving in the Den Mother Counselor position. She also greatly loved spending time with her family. Surviving family include her husband of 72 years, Ervin Umber; sons, Kerry Umber and Ron Umber; grandchildren, Angie Schick, Ken Umber, Dan Umber, and Chris Umber; and great-grandchildren, Alex Vegso and Ian Schick. Besides her parents, she was preceded in passing by her son, Lynn Umber; and granddaughter, Alicia Umber. Funeral service is 4 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2022, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation beginning at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Condolences may be left online at www.klaehnfahlmeltonfunerals.com
