Mary L. Kettle

1952 - 2024

Mary L Kettle, 71, of Janesville, WI, passed away on Tuesday January 23, 2024, in Madison, WI. She was born March 9, 1952, in Wausau, to the late Donald W. and Louise V. (Witter) Hoffmann. Mary graduated from D.C. Everest High School; she would go on to obtain her degree from U.W. to teach the hearing impaired. Mary worked for General Motors for over 35 years. On September 3, 1977, she married the love of her life Robert L. Kettle, he would precede her in death on April 26, 2012.

Growing up she lived with her grandparents so she could help take care of her brother Richard, and their grandmother who had a stroke. Mary would cut her siblings' hair twice a year, and every Christmas she would gather her siblings together to sing Christmas carols for their grandparents. Every year Mary would make 120 dozen Christmas cookies for all her friends and family. She enjoyed reading, gardening, social media, cats, NASCAR, the Hallmark channel, and loved tie-dye, she was an expert at Monopoly and Chess, because she loved a challenge.

Mary is survived by her son, Brian (Jessica) Kettle; grandson, Devon Kettle; sister, Betty (Dean Nievinski) Hoffmann; brother, Roy Hoffmann; half siblings; Tabatha Hoffmann-Crouch, Justen Hoffmann-Hulce; sister-in-laws; Nola Kettle, Wendy Hoffmann; brothers-in-law; Jerome Pagryzinski, John (Kathy) Kettle; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents; husband; brothers; Richard, Lee, and Edward; and sisters; Sally Pagryzinski, and Donna Hoffmann; In-laws; William and Yvonne Kettle; brother-in-law; Richard Kettle.

Services for Mary will be at Milton Lawns Memorial Park on Friday February 16, 2024, at 2:30 PM. The APFEL WOLFE FUNERAL HOME, Janesville, WI is assisting the family. Online condolences may be made at www.apfelwolfe.com
