Maurice Edward Bubb

1944 - 2025

Maurice Edward Bubb, 80, of Cincinnati, Ohio, peacefully passed away on August 15, 2025, He was diagnosed with cancer in 2017 and courageously fought the illness for 8 years. Maury was born on October 21, 1944 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of Ivo and Mary (Harber) Bubb. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in Ft. Wayne, received his Bachelor's degree at Marian University in Indianapolis and Master's degree at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. He was employed for 40 years as a Data Analyst at the University of Cincinnati, retiring in 2012. On October 2, 1971, he married Virginia Miller and together they raised three children.

Maury was an accomplished athlete, playing varsity basketball and golf in college. He found serenity in the outdoors – going for walks, playing golf, taking car rides, fishing, and traveling to parks and natural landscapes from the Rockies to the Smokies and all across the Midwest and Northeast. His light was his humor and selflessness. His love was his family - his wife of 54 years, Virginia Bubb, his children, Cynthia (spouse Mark Piatt) Bubb, Julia (spouse Steve) Voegele, and Terrence (spouse Jaimie) Bubb, and his five grandchildren, Grayson, Sawyer and Charlotte Bubb and Michael and Gabriel Voegele, for whom he was always the first one down on the floor to play their game of choice.

Maury is also survived by his sister, Judy Heck; and many other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Thomas and Kenneth Bubb; and one sister, Rita Bubb. A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Charles C. Young Funeral Home, 4032 Hamilton Cleves Rd. Ross, Ohio from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, August 29, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 5361 Dry Ridge Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45252. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM with burial in St. John the Baptist Cemetery after the mass.
