Maurice Zahm Obituary

Maurice E. Zahm, 90, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on May 21, 2024, at Georgetown Place. Maury was born In Huntington to the late Eugene and Edith (Miller) Zahm. He was a graduate of Huntington High School before honorably serving in the United States Army. He then entered the Insurance profession, working for Commonwealth Insurance for 27 years and BeniComp for 10 years. He was a faithful member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Surviving are his children, Elaine Pickett of Fort Wayne, David (Jill) Zahm of New Haven; step-son Jerry (Candy) Durnell; step-daughter Linda (Chris) Innis; step-daughter in-law Linda Durnell all of Fort Wayne; several grand- and great-grandchildren and a brother, Larry Zahm of Huntington. He was preceded in death by his second wife, Norma Durnell-Zahm, step-son Donald Durnell; brothers Richard E. Zahm (killed in WWll), Eldon Zahm; sisters Edna Zahm and Virginia Zahm. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, 7215 Saint Joe Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46835. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Father Mark Gunter will officiate. Burial will be at 2:30 PM in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Huntington. Preferred memorials are Our Lady of Good Hope Masses, Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Huntington or Saint Jude Children's Hospital.
