NONNA C. GEELS

NONNA C. GEELS, 81, of Decatur, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2010, 11:51 a.m., at Adams Memorial Hospital. She was born on Oct. 27, 1929, in Allen County, daughter of Henry and Mary (Girardot) Kline. She married Francis J. Geels on April 30, 1947; he survives in Decatur. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur, and worked as a lifelong homemaker. She is also survived by nine sons, Ralph (Vicky) Geels, Kenny (Lynn) Geels, Francis, Jr. (Tina) Geels and Larry (Terri) Geels, all of Decatur, Leo Geels of Ceylon, Ind., David (Lori) Geels, Edward Geels and Jerry (Kristy) Geels, all of Decatur and Ronnie Geels of Fort Wayne; eight daughters, Jean (Pete) Swenski and Marilyn Agler, both of Decatur, Ellen (Steve) Musser of Berne, Linda Geels, Alice (Chris) Kernstein, Joyce (Bill) Seip and Anita (Tim) Hirschy, all of Decatur and Janice (Peter) Van den Boom of The Netherlands; two brothers, Orville Kline and Maurice Kline, both of Fort Wayne; three sisters, Aileen Sarrazine, Mildred Beckman and Alma Gevers, all of Fort Wayne; 39 grandchildren; and numerous great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers; and a sister. Prayer service is 9:20 a.m. Thursday, April 8, 2010, at Haggard & Sefton Funeral Home in Decatur, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Father David Voors officiating. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at the funeral home, with a reciting of the Holy Rosary at 1:30 p.m. Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
