I had Mrs. Witham for second grade at St. Joseph Central school. She was a very young teacher at the time as I am now 70 years old! I remember Mrs. Witham as a very caring and loving teacher! I recall a time when Mrs. Witham had playground duty and I fell and skinned my knees. I was crying because I thought the injuries I had were the end of the world!! Keep in mind, I only skinned my knees!! Mrs. Witham came and scooped me up into an embrace and she spoke to me saying," it will all be OK, I am taking you to the office to get a bandaid!" She got me all patched up and we went back into class where all was normal. When I got off the bus at my house after school, I told my mom that it was all OK because Mrs. Witham had taken care of me. I wish I could thank her for that now!! She was a very loving and caring teacher who sent me on to third grade with a firm foundation! To Mrs. Witham´s family I will say your mother or grandmother was a wonderful teacher and she is one of the most caring people I have ever known!! After all these years , her´s is the name I remember!! To her family, I will say, I am so sorry for your loss, but I KNOW that Mrs. Witham is teaching children in Heaven and she is with her Lord.
