Philip Eckert Obituary

PHILIP C. ECKERT, 50, passed away due to injuries from a motorcycle accident, Tuesday, June 28, 2005 ,while vacationing in New York. He was born on Jan. 15, 1955, in Fort Wayne. He graduated from Indiana University in 1980 and Ohio Northern University Law School in 1983. He was a partner at Eckert Craven Law Firm in Indianapolis. He was a member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, Indiana State and American Bar Association, Indiana Trial Lawyers Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He played the guitar and enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and playing golf. He married Jane (Laudick) Eckert on June 23, 1990, in Greenwood, Ind. She survives along with their children, Adam C. and Hayley A. Eckert, both at home; his parents, Al and Val Eckert of Fort Wayne; sister, Carol (Roger) Reed in Mountain View, Calif.; two brothers, Michael J. (Laura Issen) of Fort Wayne and Stephen P. (Diane) Eckert of Indianapolis; in-laws, John and Mila Laudick of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, 335 S. Meridian St., with prayers at 10 a.m. Saturday at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home, 1605 S. St. Rd. 135. Father George Henninger will conduct the Funeral Mass. Calling is from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions to Our Lady of the Greenwood School.
