RANDY MILLER Obituary

RANDY A. "ROCKSTAR" "GUITAR" MILLER, 60, passed away Friday, May 6, 2016, at Visiting Nurse in Fort Wayne. Born in Bellvue, Neb., Randy work-ed with several local companies including North American, Exhaust World, Slater Steel, and Fort Wayne Metals. He was a member of St. Joseph United Methodist Church, and played in the Thorty Hockey League. He played guitar in several bands including Ayre Ryde, What's Next, Organized Confusion, and Plastic Deformation. Surviving are his wife, Nan Miller of Fort Wayne; daughters, Katie Webb of Fort Wayne, Angela (Dusty) Smith of Kendalleville and Jennifer Miller of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and son, Chris (Shanelle) Amstutz of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren, Jordan Webb, Dusty and Randal Smith, and Mikey and Tommy Amstutz; parents, Donald and Alice Miller of Fort Wayne; sisters, Mary (Carl) Straley of Naples, Fla. and Dona (Jerry) Kelker of Columbia City; brother, Ron (Caroline) Miller of Cincinnati, Ohio. Service is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at St. Joseph United Methodist Church, 6004 Reed Road with calling one hour prior. The family would like to encourage everyone to wear their favorite Hawaiian shirt or sports jersey to the funeral. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road. Memorials may be made to the St. Joseph United Methodist Church, Visiting Nurse, or the Wounded Warriors Project. That makes me very sad but very grateful that I saw Randy several times in the last several years after decades of not seeing him at all. I wish I could make it Wednesday but just can't get away from work that day. Randy was one hell of a guy & I know he'll be greatly missed. My thoughts & prayers are of course with his family.

Although I never met Randy, I know that he was not only a musical "rockstar", but he was a ROCKSTAR OF A FATHER! His presence will be missed on this earth, but he will make a great addition to that rock band in Heaven! Rest in Peace.

You could walk into the locker room and within 2 seconds you would know if Randy was there! Always telling a story and making everyone laugh. Hockey is full of characters...but Randy managed to standout in our group! He will most certainly be missed by all that knew him!
