Rex Cleland Farver, 78, of Woodburn, Passed away September 19, 2025, surrounded by family. Born October 28, 1946, Rex was the son of the late Cleland "Shorty" Farver and Lula Faye (Hale) Farver. A 1964 graduate of Woodlan High School, Rex married his sweetheart Jane Bremer on June 26, 1965. He went on to attend college while building his business and raising their family. Together, Rex and Jane enjoyed many adventures, leaving no stone unturned. Later in life, Rex cherished time with friends and his longtime companion, Ruth Corn. A wire die maker by trade, Rex built a company with vision and grit. Woodburn Diamond Die, founded in 1957 by his father "Shorty," became Rex's lifelong vocation. He began his journey there in 1961 and devoted his life to its growth, caring deeply about his work, his employees, and his community. Rex was a true sportsman, an avid fly fisherman, and a nature enthusiast. He found joy in the outdoors, whether walking fields with his beloved English Setters, casting a line on the Manistee River, or spending time at the family cabin in northern Michigan. He was as generous with his knowledge as he was with his time, mentoring friends, family, and even strangers in the ways of fishing, hunting, and living with quiet dignity. Above all, Rex cherished his family. He enjoyed gatherings around the dinner table, loved to cook, and was known for grilling an excellent steak. He lived with strength, humor, and a gentleman's sense of honor that will be remembered by all who knew him. Rex is survived by his daughter Michelle (John) Rumpz and their children, Caroline and Matthew Rumpz; his daughter-in-law Gabriela Farver and children, Austin and Sydney Farver. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, along with his brothers-in-law Bill, John, and Dave Bremer, and sister-in-law Lois Cole. He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Jane (Bremer) Farver; son Christopher Farver in 2023; sisters, Luwanna Rehm, Shirley Hoepnner, and Brenda Baker; brother-in-law Stan Bremer and sister-in-law Shirley Klenke with whom he shared many fond memories.
