REX MESSMANN Obituary
REX P. MESSMANN, 57, passed away Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City. Born in Fort Wayne, he was a self employed contractor who was known as a generous person to his family and many friends; the first person there in times of need. Surviving are his wife, Ann Messmann of Fort Wayne; daughter, Kerry Ann Partika of Glendora, Calif.; granddaughter, Amanda Ann Partika of Glendora, Calif.; mother, Mary Schilb of Fort Wayne; father, Jack E. Messmann of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; sister, Kim (Phil) Pollos of Fort Wayne; sister, Sue (Mike) Rolenaitis of College Station, Texas; brother, Robert (Gretchen) Schilb of Fort Wayne; sister, Terri (Kevin) Manny of Fort Wayne; brothers, Brian Schilb of Fort Wayne and Boyd Messmann of Dallas, Texas; brother, Todd Messmann of Frisco, Texas; and many nieces and nephews who dearly loved him. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Robert Schilb. Memorial calling is from 2 to 5 and 7 until 8:30 p.m. Prayer service Wednesday at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or S.C.A.N. My condolences to the family. Rex was the first contractor to "give me a break" in the tile industry. He taught me a lot about the right ways to succeed. Now I am in the Local Union. Thanks Rex, you will be missed by many.
