Dear Marcia, Kevin, Brian, and Mark,
Our hearts are hurting along with yours.
Dick was such a special man. a true gentleman, as my husband said.
I also think of him as warm, genuine, jovial, kind and easy-going. And each of those adjectives carries with it a particular image or memory in my mind and heart of his life and the way it touched ours.
What a blessing to carry those memories with us always so we can remain close to the ones we never want to be without.
I will always remember days at Lake Wawasee and fresh fish that he would fry up for all of us after a day on the pontoon boat! I remember the special treat of going out for dinner to The Country Inn and feeling extra special because we would get a hug and special treatment from Uncle Dick. ☺
In recent years, though we didn't see each other besides the occasions of the funerals of my Grandma and my parents, there was an unmistakable sense of compassion and a genuine it's so good to see you! kind of feel you could count on from Dick.
He has touched our lives in ways only he could. We are praying for you during this very painful time. We pray you will find comfort from the God who knows every step and every breath each of us takes, the God of all comfort and compassion and the Giver of peace.

I was so sorry to hear about Mr. Piekarski's passing. He was a gentle soul with a big heart. He would never let my prom dates pay for our dinner at the Country Inn. He will be greatly missed. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

So sorry to hear about Dick he was a dear friend who i played a lot of golf with over the years. He was a very warm and friendly person. We will miss not hearing from Dick. He always did a great job of cooking at all of the golf outings at McMillan Park Golf Course. Our deepest sympathy to Marcia and family .
