RICHARD SUMMERS Obituary

RICHARD "DICK" LEE SUMMERS, 79, of Huntertown, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023, with his family by his side. Born in Ege, Ind., he was the son of the late Walter H. and Kate E. Summers. Dick served the community as an elected Allen County Council Member- At Large, for 18 years. He also served on the board of the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum for 18 years. Dick spent 54 years as a real estate broker commercial and residential. Dick also sat on the Alumni Committee of Northside Redskins class of 1961. He had many interests which included photography, golfing, mall walking, bird watching, especially Blue Birds and Golden Finches. Dick is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda; daughter, Stacey (Dan) O'Day; sons, Jamie R. Summers and Shannon D. Summers; three grandchildren, Sydney Lopshire, Harrison Lopshire and June Summers; one great-grandchild, Kayden; and siblings, Ted (Joey) Summers, Herb Summers, Mike (Cheryl) Summers, Kathy (Chuck) Garrett. A Celebration of Life is from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2023, at the Lakeside Park Pavilion #2, 1401 Lake Ave., closest to the Rose Garden. In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials in Dick's honor may be directed to SCAN. Arrangements entrusted to FairHaven Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

I was wondering why Dick hasn't called for a while, he would call about every three months and talk about everything. Rest in peace old friend.
