RICHARD WEIMER Obituary

RICHARD E. WEIMER, 82, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010, at Canterbury Nursing & Rehabilitation, Fort Wayne. Born in Avilla, he worked maintenance with Lincoln Life Insurance Company for 32 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and American Legion Post 240, Avilla. He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran. He and his wife, Mary Jo enjoyed camping at Chain O'Lakes State Park. Surviving are his sons, Richard E. Weimer Jr. and Matthew L. Weimer, both of Fort Wayne; daughters, Melinda (Tom) Muntzinger of Van Wert, Ohio and Karen D. Wegman of Fort Wayne; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Pauline Milleman of Huntertown. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl W. and Harriett S. Weimer; and wife, Mary Jo Weimer. Mass of Christian Burial is 1:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Road, with calling 1/2 hour prior. Fr. James Kumbakkeel officiating. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, with Rosary at 4:30 p.m. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
