ROXIE KNUCKLES Obituary

ROXIE MAE KNUCKLES, 86, of Borden, Ind., passed away Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017 at her daughters home in Memphis, Ind. at 2:10 a.m. Born Nov. 19, 1930 in Straight Creek, Ky., she was the daughter of Jess Eversole and Florence (Collins) Eversole. On Oct. 22, 1951, in Tennessee, Roxie married Ray Knuckles, who survives in Borden, Ind. Roxie worked as a seamstress, which she enjoyed because she loved sewing. She was a member of First Baptist Church of New Haven, Ind. and attended Mount Moriah Church in Henryville, Ind. She loved her family dearly and all their family activities. Survivors include her children, Rev. Johnny (Sandy) Knuckles of New Albany, Ind., Bob (Mindy) Knuckles of Gainesville, Fla., and Diane (Reverend Terry) Lanoue of Memphis, Ind.; eight grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Katherine Brock of Cincinnati, Ohio. She was preceded in death by an infant son, William Knuckles, two (812)793-2571brothers, and four sisters. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017 conducted by Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Henryville, Ind. with calling after 10 a.m. on Wednesday. Friends may also visit from 4:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday. Burial to follow at Mount Moriah Cemetery. Memorial donations maybe given to Mount Moriah Church or the Leukemia Research Foundation in care of Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 209 S. Ferguson St., Henryville (IN 47126). I was lucky enough to live next door to Ray and Roxie for 19 years. What wonderful people! I have missed them every day since they moved but I'm glad they were with their kids. Roxie is in a better place with no pain or worries. God bless.
