I interviewed Rudy for my book 'We Gave Our Best: American World War II Veterans Tell Their Stories.' He had a great story about serving in Iceland. I visited him 2 weeks before his death. He was still kind and friendly to talk to. I will miss him. He was a great patriot.

Rudy was a genealogy favorite of mine. He had a wonderful sense of humor and we could talk "family" and enjoy their escapades. I will miss him, his smile and his friendliness. He was a "peach". My condolences to his family.
