RUTH ANN KEMP

RUTH ANN KEMP, 84, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023. She was born Feb. 6, 1939, in Fort Wayne, Ind., a daughter of the late Walter and Thelma Har -meyer. Ruth Ann retired from Sears after over 30 years of employment. She was very involved with Junior Achievement of Northern Indiana and the Allen County Christmas Bureau. When her children were young, she was involved in their activities at Northrop High School, specifically the Marching Band. In her spare time, she loved to crochet and gifted things she made to many. Throughout her life she was a long-time Sunday School Teacher, played in the Bells Choir and sang in the Church Choir. Over the past five years, she was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Fort Wayne. She is survived by her husband of nearly 66 years, Donald E. Kemp; children, Judy (Dennis) Maley, Dan (Phelicia) Kemp and Larry (Becky) Kemp; grandchildren, Phaith (Jamie) Muma, Patrick (Janet) Kemp, Matt (Rachel) Dinius, Josiah Kemp, Eliyah Kemp, Saufina Kemp, Asher Kemp and Brandon (Laura) Maley; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Stan Harmeyer. She was also preceded in death by daughter, Dianna Kemp; granddaughter, Netanya Kemp; and stepfather, William Eagleson. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2023, at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne (IN 46804), with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 31, 2023, at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, Ind.
