RUTH I. KNOBLAUCH, 95, of Woodburn, Ind., passed away Monday, Dec. 27, 2021, at Lutheran Life Villages at Pine Valley, Fort Wayne. Born in Payne, Ohio she was the daughter of the late James and Leona "Pearl" (Merica) Davis. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Woodburn. She was the matriarch of the family, a proud homemaker and mother, had the fanciest decorated farmhouse around, never passed up a shopping trip, was a crossword whiz, a golfer, a ballroom dancer, loved drinking Manhattans and playing cards, quick-witted, was fiercely independent, and generous. She is survived by her children, Tim (Char) Knoblauch of Angola and Wendy (Terry) Powell of New Haven; twin sister, Esther Fisher of Latty, Ohio; grandchildren, Traci (Peter) Nordberg, Ryan (Karri) Knoblauch, Michael (Rufina) Knoblauch, Emily (Keegan) Wentz, and Evan Powell; and great- grandchildren, Ella, Kate, Louisa, Madelyne, Hayden, Christian, Daniel and James; and great-great- grandson, Ford. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Fredrick, in 2007; two brothers, and two sisters. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Tuesday at Christ Lutheran Church, 4412 Park St., Woodburn, with visitation two hours prior. Burial in the church cemetery.
