SANDRA O'SHAUGHNESSY Obituary

SANDRA ELIZABETH O'SHAUGHNESSY, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, at St. John Hospital, Santa Monica, Calif. She was born on Dec. 10, 1961. Sandy attended South Side High School, Fort Wayne where she played the role of Liat in "South Pacific". She moved to California in 1985 to pursue acting with credited roles in "Falling Snow" and "Borderline Coyotes" and appeared in infomercials and a toothpaste ad that featured her beautiful smile. She loved the warmth, beautiful sunshine and California lifestyle. Sandy was so pleasantly optimistic, very giving, and kind. She was a loving soul and will remain a bright light in the memories of all who loved her. She was also a person of abiding faith. Surviving are her son, Charles John Close III; long time partner, Eddie Keating; adoptive siblings, Steve (Jennifer) O'Shaughnessy, Mark (Laura) O'Shaughnessy, Patty (Tim) Atkins, Andy (Kathy) O'Shaughnessy, and Susie O'Shaughnessy; and biological siblings, Esmeralda Sandoval and others living in Honduras and Belgium. She was preceded in death by her biological mother; adoptive parents, Phillip and Jean O'Shaughnessy; biological elder sisters, Elsa and Blanca; and her faithful service dog, Gizmo. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at a later date in the Spring.

Everyone liked her . I met her in the 5th Grade at Harrison Hill . We both lived in California , and were supposed to meet . We lost touch when she quit Facebook . I'm so sorry that we didn't get together . She only lived about 20 miles from me . We both went to South Wayne Baptist Church . I only went there for a couple of years . I'll always remember her and Andy and their parents pulling up on Sunday in an antique car . God Bless her and her fun , beautiful spirit . RIP

I remember meeting Sandy when she started first grade. Mrs S. Introduced to my daughter Joyce, and myself. Joyce had already picked up on the fact that Sandy spoke little or no English. She reached out, took her hand, and said "come I´ll be your friend." Jean and I just shrugged our shoulders and knew that Sandi had a friend and would be ok. RIP
