SCOTT WARREN THAYER

SCOTT WARREN THAYER, 60, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away Friday, Dec. 23, 2022, in his home in Howell, Mich. Scott was born on Aug. 21, 1962 in Fort Wayne, Ind. to Richard and Rosann Thayer. He went to Homestead High School, graduating in 1980. He attended IUPUI for a degree in Business Administration and continued on to receive his Master's Degree in Finance from the University of St. Francis. He practiced Cost Estimation at Ford Motor Company for 32 years. On Sept. 19, 1987, he married Tina Louise Emenhiser. They raised a daughter, Emily Renae; and son, Joseph Aaron. The family moved to Michigan in 1990. Scott had a passion for making sure all of his loved ones felt as special as they are. His love and kindness were expressed wonderfully in the way he wrote and spoke about the people most important to him. He was always there to lend an ear and to share his advice, without judgement. He loved music and played guitar and piano, and enjoyed singing with his daughter, Emily. Vacationing out West with his wife, family and friends. Scott also took joy in fishing and deer hunting. He took delight in fishing on the pond next to their home with his son, Joe. Taking many fishing trips with his father and brothers throughout the years. He also enjoyed having fish tanks around the home and shared the passion for "fishing" at the fish shops with his brother, Brian. He had an excitement for learning about the Civil War, collecting memorabilia and traveling to the battlefields. He never missed an opportunity to look for gold, taking his gold panning materials with him to the rivers and creeks. His greatest joy was traveling back home to Indiana on weekends with his wife and children to visit family. He is survived by his wife, Tina; his daughter, Emily (Joshua) Kidd; his son, Joseph; his grandchildren, Levi and Liam; his mother and father, Rosann and Richard Thayer; his sister, Janice (Jim) Koday; his brothers, Jay (Bronwyn) and Brian (Diane) Thayer; and many nieces and nephews. Scott was preceded in death by his brother, Gregory. Memorial service is 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, 2022, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center St., Auburn, Ind., following visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
