STEVE TIBOR NAGY

STEVE TIBOR NAGY, 75, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017, peacefully at home. born in Hajdubos zormeny, Hungary, he was the son of the late Maria Blasko (Molnar) and Joseph Blasko. He and his mother were forced to flee Hungary after the Revolution of 1956. They then lived in a displaced persons camp in Austria until coming to Fort Wayne as refugees in 1959. Steve learned English and graduated from Central High School before starting a career at NIPSCO. In 1972 he opened The Hobby Hut Stamps and Coins. In recent years Steve volunteered with the Karen refugee community and helped sell breads at several local farmers markets for the family bakery. Steve is survived by a son, Steven Nagy (Angela Quinn), and a daughter, Christine Nagy Mokgadi. He is also survived by grandchildren, Thabo Mokgadi, Kagiso Mokgadi, Mogale Mokgadi, Pauline Quinn, Jacob Keirn, and a great-granddaughter, Amelia Zeimet. Visitation is from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, May 8, 2017 at Klaehn Fahl & Melton Funeral Home on Winchester Road, followed by a gathering at First Christian Church on South Calhoun Street.
