THOMAS ALBERDING Obituary

THOMAS J. ALBERDING, 51, of Decatur, died Monday, Sept. 5, 2011, at Lutheran Hospital. Born July 28, 1960, in Decatur, he was the son of Leo W. and Mary (Geimer) Alber-ding. he married Sara E. Webb on July 30, 2010. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic church, Decatur and their Holy Name Society. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 864, in which he was a Past Grand Knight. He worked as a Production and Sales manager for Alberding Woodworking. Survivors include his mother, Mary L. Alberding of Decatur; wife, Sara E. Alberding of Decatur; children, Tony Alberding of San Francisco, Calif., Liz (Ryan) Wamsley of Fort Wayne, Eliza, Malachi and Vincent Palumbo all of Decatur; siblings, Mary Ann (Tim) Lichtenberger, Peg (Jim) Aloisio, Steve (Jeananne) Alberding, Bill (Jackie) Alberding, Den (Amy) Alberding and Barb (Bruce) Dicke all of Decatur and Julie Alberding of Tucson, Ariz.; grandson, Nicholas Wamsley. He is preceded in death by his father, Leo; and daughter, Valarie Rose. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, 2011 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with Father Thomas Lombardi officiating. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011 at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home, with reciting of the Holy Rosary at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Decatur.
