I know this memorial is from 2004, but I was thinking of Mr. Romary and decided to look him up. He was my math teacher in the '90s. He was a wonderful teacher and mentor. He made a great impact on my life. I became an engineer, and he was instrumental in helping me reach my goals. The world is a better place because he was here, and touched so many lives.

I still think of Tom often. I use the diff eq he taught me often enough that he comes to mind at least once a week.

I am still in shock to learn of Professor Romary's passing. I was one of his students at Indiana Tech in the early 90's. He was such a wonderful teacher and man, I know he will really be missed. God Bless those he left behind.

I knew Tom for such a short time of 3 1/2 years. Tom was always very honest, fair and smiling. I know thru my work some of his students and they speak very well of Tom. I realize that things don't always go as we want in life, but I wish I had known Tom 50 years ago and had the honor of being a lifetime friend.

I met Tom last summer when we discussed his teaching at Manchester College. We had a great talk and he showed me the math booklets he had written. In the end, it didn't work out for him to teach here, which was a disappointment because he seemed like such a good teacher.
I'm so sorry to hear about his passing. God be with you, Becky.

I only met Tom once when Tylers parents visited California about 4 or 5 years ago. He seemed like a good guy and I would just like to say that my prayers and thoughts are with Tyler and his family at a tough time like this.

I recall a New's Year eve where Mr. Romary piled up his mini van full of obnoxious, possibly overserved 21 year olds and transported us to our planned destinations for the evening.
Thanks for looking out for us Mr. Romary, you are missed.

I was shocked and saddened by the news of Mr. Romary. He was my instructor for classes like statistics and general math studies at Concordia University.
He made learning math fun. His booklets really helped me to understand his step-by-step instructions of learning the process. I have never seen anyone enjoy working with numbers as Mr. Romary displayed to his students. My condolences to Mrs. Romary and the family. My prayers are with you.

I only met Mr. Romary once when I visited Fort Wayne with Tyler for Chris & Jen Wright's wedding. He was such a sweet guy and super cool because he's a fellow math nerd! I just want ya'll to know that from what I see in Tyler (excluding the math), Mr. Romary was a great man. I have so much sadness in my heart for your family. Take care of each other.

Tom was a great friend and teacher. I was fortunate to know him both as a student and as a staff member at Concordia University. Tom will be truly missed by all of his students and our staff. It was a pleasure to have known him. He had a passion for teaching and could get as excited about "you getting it" as you did. He brought enthusiasm, humor, and confidence to our classrooms. Becky, Tammy, and Tyler, he spoke of you often during classes and was really proud of his family. And he was so proud to be a Grandpa...TRIG. Blessings to you and your families. We all loved him too.

I was shocked to read about Mr. Romary in the paper the other day. I was a student of Professor Romary's a year or two ago at IPFW and I have to say that he was by far one of the best teachers I have ever had. He had such an ability to present complicated math in a way that anyone could understand and learn. I can say that I always looked forward to going to his class. What a great man.

Tom was always the teacher I would turn to when i needed someone to help a student understand math. He was a genuine career educator and I admired him very much.

Tom was so much fun to have as a math professor - it was clear he loved the topic and delighted in showing us the neatest 'math tricks'. I will miss him as a professor, friend, mentor and colleague. Thanks for everything Tom!

Just last week I was telling my boss that would I have wanted to pursue a career in math or actuarial science, I would take every course that Tom Romary would be willing to offer and that I would ask him to teach me everything he knew about math. I was privileged to take two of Tom's courses at Concordia University. In my experience, Tom's understanding of and passion for teaching math was like none other. His ability to communicate and transfer his understanding and passion made it a pure delight to be his student. Plus, Tom always took the time to ask how we were doing and to learn a little something about us. We discovered that Tom grew up across the street (Woodview Boulevard) from my father, Henry Lepper.
Tom was so proud of his children and grandchildren and spoke of them often. I'll always remember what he wanted his grandchildren to remember as they were learning math: TRIG - "Tom Romary is Grandpa!"
Blessings, comfort, and peace through Jesus Christ to those who knew and loved Tom.
Sincerely and with thanksgiving,
Kurt Webber

Becky, I was so shocked to read that Tom had passed away. As you know, I always credited him for getting me through the Algebra class at IPFW that I need for my graduation. He was a wonderful man and a great teacher who had compassion for all people. It is a great loss to you and the academic community in Fort Wayne. My prayers are with you and your family.
