THOMAS SZYMANSKI, 51, passed away Friday, Feb. 3, 2017 at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born on Jan. 1, 1966 in Ann Arbor, Mich., a son of the late Gerald Szymanski and Dolores Szymanski, who survives. Thomas was a music enthusiast, and avid sports fan, and above all else, he was a wonderful father and devoted husband. Thomas is survived by his wife, Mary Szymanski; children, David, Christopher, and Nicolette; siblings, John (Donna) Szymanski, James (Tina) Szymanski, and Mary (Michael) Robinson. Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017 at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Rd., Fort Wayne )IN 46825). Memorial contributions can be made to NAMI, National Alliance for the Mentally Ill or to the family in care of his children's education.

I've known Tom for 45 years. He was a true sports fan and very loyal to the Detroit Tigers. We were best friends in first and second grade. His good sense of humor and passion for life will be sorely missed.
