VINTEN Z. SHAVER, 88, was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, July 27, 2023. Born Aug. 25, 1934 in Riffle, W.V., he was the son of the late Scott and Lena (Den -nison) Shaver. Vinten retired from DANA in 1998 after 35 and a half years of service. He was a member of the Three Rivers Wesleyan Church. Vinten was preceded in death by his wife, Joan, in 2012 after 55 years of marriage. Surviving are children, Connie (Ted) Jackson, Gary (Shelly) Shaver, Steven (Jeanna) Shaver and Michael Shaver; grandchildren, Tammy (Devin) Haifley, Amber Bunch, Heather Shaver, and Nicholas Jackson; great-grandchild, Graystin Bunch; sister, Patty (Robert) Moore; and several nieces and nephews. Also preceding him in death were his brothers, Forrest, Fountain, Larry, and Clifford; and sisters, infant Dayphene, Imogene, InaJune, Elizabeth, Sharron and Janet. Funeral service is 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023, at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne (IN 46804), with calling one hour prior. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2023, also at the funeral home. Committal will take place in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, Ind. Memorial contributions may be made to Three Rivers Wesleyan Church.

I am so sorry for your father's death. I remember him as being a kind, gentle man.
My grandfather and I lived next door to you on Cook Rd for years. I see your mother passed also. They were wonderful people. I hope they rest in peace together once again.

I remember working with Vinten at Dana many years ago. He was kind, generous and fun to work with. His humble helpful attitude made the work easier for the younger ones. I haven´t forgot you Vinten. Don Troyer
