WALTER R. MILLS

WALTER R. MILLS, 81, of Shriner Lake, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, at his home. He lived in Fort Wayne for much of his life until moving to Tri-Lakes in 1996. He retired in 1983 from International Harvester, Fort Wayne, after 33 years. He was a member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church, Churubusco. He enjoyed fishing, living at his lake home, and loved his family. Surviving are his wife of over 60 years, Betty (Truelove) Mills; children, Elizabeth (Gary) Jones of Lebanon, Mo., Michael (Candace) Mills of Columbia City, Frank (Melinda) Mills of Fredericksburg, Texas, Paul (Jennifer) Mills of Columbia City, and Patricia (Pete Vaughn) Kelley of Fort Wayne; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Mary (Falba) Mills; and sister, Joan Romine. Mass of Christian Burial is 1 p.m. Monday at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, Churubusco. Father Danney Pinto, the celebrant. Visitation is from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco, with the Holy Rosary recited at 5 p.m. Burial in Ege Catholic Cemetery, Noble County. Memorials for masses.
