WILLIAM L. SLUYTER

1969 - 2022

WILLIAM L. SLUYTER, of Fort Wayne, died peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022, at home following an unexpected late stage diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Born on May 6, 1969, Bill grew up in Allen county, attending S.W.A.C. schools and Indiana State University. Because of his interest in technology, Bill worked in the I.T. field the majority of his career. Bill made and maintained many friendships during his life. He kept up with their activities and celebrated achievements and milestones along the way. Bill was a loving and supportive son. He was the brother who was always available to help or hang-out with. He was known as a fun uncle and grand uncle who left many memories for all to remember. Bill was a man of faith in God's promise of salvation, and found strength / comfort in his Catholicism. Bill was a lifelong Notre Dame football fan, attending many games over the decades. Bill will be best remembered for his appreciation of music and attending concerts often with family and friends. Bill will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving are his family members; mother, Norma Cyr Sluyter; brothers, Robert P. Sluyter and Christopher (Denise) Sluyter; nieces, Lauren Sluyter and Lyndsay (Josh) Cross; and nephews, James Swihart and Joel (Holly) Sluyter. Bill was preceded in death by his father, Robert D. Sluyter; and sister, Mary Ann (Steve) Swihart. Mass of resurrection is 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24, 20222, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Road, with visitation at 9:30 a.m. Lunch and fellowship immediately following services.
