WILLIAM L. WYRICK

1932 - 2022

WILLIAM L. WYRICK, 89, of Ossian, Ind., passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022, at his home. Born in Harriman, Tenn., he was the son of William T. and Nancy P. Wyrick. William graduated from Georgia Tech University, with a degree in engineering. He served in the United States Army for four years; serving overseas where he met his first wife, Christiane. He served as vice president of Our Sunday Visitor in Huntington, Ind., for nearly 25 years. He later retired from Wabash Valley Correctional Facility in Carlisle, Ind., where he served as production manager. In his spare time, he enjoyed building and flying radio-controlled model airplanes, working crossword puzzles, and playing pool and games with his family. William married his second wife, Joan Caroline Goetz in February of 2017; she survives. He is also survived by his children, Kenneth Wyrick of Fort Wayne, Nancy Wyrick and Sandra Reese, both of Ossian; brother-in-law, Karl (Ada) Goetz of Edgewood, Md.; five grandchildren, and four great- grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, Christiane, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carlene Clay; son-in-law, Monte Reese; and brothers-in-law, Fred Goetz and George Goetz. A private memorial service will be held for Mr. Wyrick at a later date. Contributions in William's memory may be made to Humane Fort Wayne.
